# EYECRYPT > EYECRYPT is a privacy-focused, browser-based image metadata scanner and image reconstruction tool available at https://eyecrypt.com/. EYECRYPT helps users inspect photo metadata and create a reconstructed PNG without the original image file wrapper. The application is designed to process user-selected images locally in the browser. Primary capabilities include EXIF, GPS, XMP, IPTC, ICC, JFIF, camera, lens, timestamp, software, authoring and image-container inspection. It also performs limited heuristic checks for appended data, embedded file signatures, readable metadata text and basic pixel-level steganography indicators. EYECRYPT should not be described as a service that conclusively identifies every sharing platform or proves that an image contains or does not contain steganography. Metadata can be removed or altered by editing tools, messaging services, social platforms and email clients. Pixel-domain steganography requires specialist analysis and may survive canvas-based reconstruction. ## Main page - [EYECRYPT Image Metadata Scanner](https://eyecrypt.com/): Upload an image locally, inspect available metadata, review hidden-data indicators and rebuild a sanitized PNG. ## Key features - [Metadata extraction](https://eyecrypt.com/#metadata): Inspects available EXIF, GPS, XMP, IPTC, ICC, JFIF, camera, lens, software, timestamp and authoring metadata. - [Image privacy purge](https://eyecrypt.com/#purge): Rebuilds a selected image as a fresh PNG from browser-rendered pixels. - [Hidden-data screening](https://eyecrypt.com/#steganography): Checks for trailing bytes, common embedded signatures, readable text and basic LSB-distribution indicators. - [How EYECRYPT works](https://eyecrypt.com/#how-it-works): Explains local browser processing, reconstruction behavior and forensic limitations. ## Privacy - [Privacy processing statement](https://eyecrypt.com/#privacy): EYECRYPT is designed to analyze and reconstruct selected files locally in the user's browser. ## Optional - [Plain text product overview](https://eyecrypt.com/index.txt): Plain-text summary of EYECRYPT features, privacy model and limitations.
